Exclamation

I know I have probably missed this somewhere along the line but...
Why and how does my jap MY95 WRX "pop" and is it harmful? (to the car that is!)

Thanx in advance

Knowlsey, the pop could be over fuelling. Do you have a complete de-cat system?

It is common for a scob to over fuel, not much to worry about.

Popping can also be underfueling - if the high rpm/low load part of the map is weak, when 'removing foot from pedal' at high rpm there isn't enough fuel to light in the chamber but enough to ignite in the exhaust!
Anyway, most people worry when their car isn't popping

Take off the backbox will make it louder Louder exhaust = louder popping. Strnagely enough, the loudest system I have heard of was fitted by your namesake from scoobysport.
