Question

Hi everyone, I'm a newbie if you had'nt noticed . I've only had my 98' 2000 Turbo two weeks now and loving it, it's the mutts nutts of a car. However, I've fitted a K&N Cone Filter (mainly for induction noise rather than performance reasons) but i've been told that this may not have been the right idea.

Basicly I've been told that a Panel Filter would have been a better idea??? Can someone in the know please let me know whats what.

Also if I were to fit a set of 18", what tyre would be best as I've heard that Scoobies are a bugger for handleing probs if the wrong tyres are fitted??

Thanks alot in advance.

There's been hundreds of threads about whihc inuction kit to fit... Do a search and you'll find plenty

Basically, an induction kit will give better performance and noise than a panel filter but an induction kit costs more

The threads will mainly go on about MAF damange and which ones cause it.. I don't think that anything is conclusive but it can happen from vibration and oil contamination is the general feeling.

All IMHO obviously

K&N is a paper based oil filter which you have to oil... Hence the debate about MAF contamination

K&N are about as safe as they come. No more MAF failures, it seems, from having them over the oem filter!
