Dawes AFR not working
Personally i would take the live feed from the ignition, this is so that u know that u have a good live feed, my lambdalink only works when i have a good live feed (didnt work from ecu live)

From what I remember a clean earth is just as important, pick this up from the battery also.
The meter will take a few minutes to sort itself out after starting as IIRK the lambda needs a little while to warm b4 it gives a reading.
hope this helps,
simon

Thanx for all the replies, but even when hot I get nothing!
I changed the =live feed to the *** lighter, and still no joy
I need to know the correct pin for the White wire, as I've got into pin 21 on a my00 ECU which I thought was correct!. (P1)
Is my Lambda probe bust?, cos I have no running trouble, or fault codes??? Please help as it may end up in the bin at this rate

Try picking up the signal direct from the lambda probe- not sure which wire this is on your car but someone will know. Also, to check the AFR is ok, touch the 12v feed to the signal wire and this should light the blue LED

Right, have checked the Dawes itself, and when I crossed the +live, and the signal wire, I got the Blue light! So, either my Lambda is f****d or the pin 21 is wrong for my ECU pick-up
Very unlikely the AFR is not working- we've fitted loads of these and neither myself nor jamie whitfield have ever come across one that has a problem.
See if you can pick up the feed with a temporary wire direct from the lambda ~ we've had problems picking up from the ECU on several occassions.
Mail me if I can help any further,
simon

Just got back. It seems that we have a different ECU to begin with so ignore the mail if I sent you one. For a Pre-97 car, you take the middle top wire on the bid plug next to the smallest plug. But I think you've either got a 5 or 3 plug.

Katana, what car have you got, cos as I said in an earlier thread, mine is a my00 P1. the Ecu has 3 plugs, a grey,Black, and Blue I think! The Ecu code is AG340 with a black label with a big 1B on it aswell. Not sure what you mean about the pre97 thing?

From: from the planet Omicron Persei 8. What is this emotion "Wuv" you puny Earthlings speak of ??
This may be of use but not sure!
When I fitted this to my car I contacted Subaru Technical for a pin out diagram of the ecu.
This was faxed to me and I found which wire was required from their information.
The tel. no is: 0121 5572112. ask for John Baker.
He was great help to me on this one.
My car is not the same as yours so sorry if this is no good at all.
You could always try Prodrive and ask them?

Ok I've given up now! Will let Bob Rawle sort it out when I have the TEK3 done in a couple of weeks!
(Hopefully) but if anyone has fitted a Dawes AFR to a P1 mail me please.

Just installed an AFR this weekend in a MY '99. From your description it looks like the ECU is similar. Lambda signal is indeed at pin 21 of blue plug. What almost fooled me when splicing into the ECU is that the pin location in the PossumLink manual is mirrored.
Attached live to cig lighter and ground to battery...seems to work.
Cheers,
Pim.
