Question

my 96wrx takes 10minutes driving before it even register on the temp gauge and when i leave the car for about an hour it seems to keep the heat in and register normal temperature straight away.
is this normal

Well, close. Depends how you drive to start with - can't say I look at the 'stock' temperature guage very often, but escaping from London (very slow ) in this weather it probably takes nearly 20 minutes to get up to 70C, and most of that's the struggle up to 35ish. Once hot, though, it stays hot for, ooo, well, after 2 hours the teperature's barely dropped at all - probably down to high 60s? Certainly takes very little time to get up to temperature again, anyway.

I HAVEN'T GOT ANY SPECIFIC NUMBERS ON THE GAUGE BUT WHEN I JUMP IN THE CAR AFTER ITS BEEN STILL FOR AN HOUR OR MORE THE TEMP GAUGE IS NORMALLY HIGHER THAN WHEN I TURNED IT OFF(HALF WAY ON THE GAUGE)THE CAR HAS NEVER GONE PAST HALF WAY AND BY THE WHAT YOU'VE TOLD ME MINE SOUNDS OK
