Guarantee.....dont believe everything they tell you. Your £511 would be better spent on a full exhaust system, and perhaps a slight increase in boost.
There are very few on Scoobynet who would recommend a superchip.

I was under the impression (from this forum) that the 'Unichip' supplied and fitted by PS is a better way to go...

It can be re programmed if you decide to add other mods later

Considering it myself

i wanted to know about this to. What happens if you have a full system and still want more power? I was looking into superships and asked others about it. Soem scooby owners say its ok but most wont touch them. Apparently a few people had them done on here and there were engine problems????

Has anyone had the superchip done?

For that money i would go for the TEK2. IIRC the superchipo is just a crude boost clamp. May be wrong, but if it was my car i would not touch it.

Just my opinion.

Yep. Previous two cars both had a superchip fitted.

From what I gather its more down to the person fitting and the owner not getting greedy looking for a little more boost and turning it up a bit.

Both cars were done through a place here in Northern Ireland, never had any problems, first car when sold had the chip removed, the other car I still see driving around and it is running fine.

First car had it fitted from about 14K, sold it with around 34K. Second car fitted from 7K and sold with 38K.

The guy fitting it told me that he would NEVER put one on an import, but they were ok on the UK cars. He has never had any cars let go.

I remember a thread like this some time ago, where it was asked if anyone with a superchip fitted had blown up.

There is a new Superchip with an adjustable new fuel cut point. Still it is primitive when you can build the same for <£5 (the circuits are on Scoobynet).

akshay67,

I had an adjustable one on a 99 Uk with no mods. Power around to 260bhp. Had the kit taken off when i purchased decat exhaust/downpipe as the car kept overboosting. Only 'adjustment' is the 'bleed' valve. Could not be bothered with the hassle and this was reinforced when viewing comments here. Wish I'd seen tek2 first!

Had tek 2 done two days after removal of kit. Power gains very similar but no hassle with overboost. Tek2 (circa £600ish) is the way to go...but if you want a cheap alternative for std car let me know (£75)

I had the superchip and all it does is stop fuel cut, hence you can up the boost.

I've just had the Unichip fitted with also water injection and 3" aussie down pipe. Having the Blitz SBCiD boost controller fitted on Friday so should be seeing some very good power results The Unichip is well worth doing !

Regards

Kev..

Let you know the results after boost controller fitted.

i had superchip in my cav turbo and blew the engine when driving top end (didnt help my rad was f*****D)lad who rolling roaded my cav said "there allright with hard driving up to 4th gear but once you start pushing top end for 10min period BANG" the way they change the cars charateristics you might as well start saving for an engine rebuild now.
