Car is an STi V5 Type R
After recently fitting a blitz dual turbo timer I was shocked to see that the max boost went up to 1.4bar. I know these arent the most accurate of gauges but it does seem high.
Breathing mods are full scoobysport exhaust and HKS super power flow filter running on optimax.
Any comments?

Yes and it could be detting even on Optimax - it is the breathing mods that are doing it most likely unless you have got oil in the solenoid or restrictor from overfilling.
I would suggest you get a knocklink and consider resizing the restrictor off the turbo compressor outlet up by 0.05 to 0.1mm to (IIRC) 0.85 to 0.9mm.
Alternatively get it remapped and hold 1.25-1.3 bar without peaks safely with fuelling and ignition to suit UK fuel but this is clearly more expensive than buying a 0.85 or 0.90 mm drill bit.

Cheers for the quick reply John. The part about changing the restrictor size did a fly by though. Im (unfortunately) not as clued up on these cars as I would like to be. However I am reading threads to find more out about the TEK 3 ecu upgrade that you do, should i get a knocklink fitted before getting in touch with you to carry out the TEK 3?

Do a search for "STI7 Boost Spike Fix Idea" in Drivetrain. Lots of info on restrictor sizes there. It was quite a long thread. Cheers.
EDIT: I agree with John, that if your goal is simply to bring down the boost, an EBC or new ECU is a bit of an overkill.

After a quick run out:
It only happens if I am cruising in fifth and then plant it,let off then plant it again. If going through the gears it gives a boost pressure of 1.25-1.3bar. Would this still be classed as high?
Cheers RT I will go and have a search
