Anybody heard of this problem:

Under acceleration/high rpm engine light comes on. Mainly occurs during 3rd-4th gear change at around 70+ mph.

Engine fault is temporary, clears itself after 4 starts. Car has been back to dealer and cam sensor replaced, new ecu but still hasn't cured the problem. They are baffled by the problem.

Listers of Worcester (my closest Subaru dealer) have been great about it but still problem has not been resolved. Subaru UK are to come out and investigate the problem.

So far, i have little faith in the car. The problem has been going on for most of the time i have owned the car.

Anybody had a problem that Subaru nor dealer have been able to fix? What happened to your car?

Please help!

Wink

Cant really help that much but does your car have any modifications or is it totally standard?
I can point you in the direction of Pete Croney (Scoobysport) who may be able to help you (he has an MY01 and has had a few CEL probs) or Dave T-S may also be able to help you.
Hope this helps

Tony

I've got the PPP installed. Dealer suspected faulty ECU and has already replaced it.

I've been told by the dealer mechanics the each time the CEL comes on they get different fault codes. I wonder if it is a wiring loom problem.

I'm not sure I will be able to add anything. Its a case of looking at the error code logs and going from there. I'm sure Listers are doing just this.
