check that it is not over full with oil

 

If your car is having run problems when at peak tourque/boost IE. at around 4,000rpm, then it is quite likley that when the spark plugs were fitted at service they were not gapped correctly. They should be set at 0.8mm. This is crittical & if not done correctly will cause run probs similar to the one that you describe.
