I run a HKS Evc, set at manual boost, it always seems 0.1 bar out, running at 1.2 on the EVC only shows 1.1 on my HKS Boost gauge.
When setting the high and low boost settings, the boost gauge reflects the correct pressure.
Is this an in-built safty feature? Or is the Evc playing up?

Anyone else run one of these ?

Cheers

Running the same set up on an Sti 3mate. Similar problems, the boost gauge always reads around 1bar less than the EVC. Not sure which one is accurate to be honest! Can anyone else out there enlighten us?

Can depend on several things.

1. Are your boost gauge and EVC on separate individual feeds to the manifold pressure source? If you've T-ed anything else in it may affect the readings.

2. Depending on whether you did the setup 100% how you should do may affect the end result and what the car boosts to on your gauge.

3. I have a HKS Electronic boost gauge and EVC4 and the boost goes to EXACTLY 1.4bar on both (a bit more in 5th gear), so if your gauges are mechanical, that may not help. (That's just a guess)

4. Does the solenoid for the EVC have a REALLY good earth to the bodyshell? If not, it won't be accurate.

5. Try using the offset feature (as described in the manual) to adjust the boost so the EVC and the gauge read what you want the boost to be.

6. Is the source of the signal reliable? I.E. if you have these devices piped in, are the sources 100% leak free and are all clips and hose clamps tight and are you using the same type of hose to both units? Weaker hose might expand more and affect the readings, maybe?

I could go on actually. But there are some to be getting your teeth into

Cheers

Rich

P.S. I'm no expert but I've had this setup on 2 different cars now and I too had similar experiences.
