Broken ECU?
My car (92K MY93) broke down on Sat. It will turn over fine but never seems to catch. The AA bloke who checked it over (and towed me home) said the spark plugs were dry (i.e. no petrol getting to the engine). Apparently this could be the ECU, petrol pump etc.
Just curious if anyone ever experienced similar. Oh yeah and is it right that ECU's cost in the region of a grand?
Many thanks

More like £100 from a breakers, but need to check the model numbers on the label. Less likely to be the ECU.

From: Leeds - It was 562.4bhp@28psi on Optimax, How much closer to 600 with race fuel and a bigger turbo?
check crank and cam position sensors first... should have a square wave output whilst cranking..

quick hint for narrowing down problems
you have a diagnostic tool fitted its called the rev counter
if its moving then at least the ignition is triggering so at leats the crank sensor is working.
depending on individual car you may have another usefull diagnostic device your ears. if you can normaly hear the fuel pump when you turn ignition on and now you can't its a fiar bet that your problem is somewhere in the pump or the associated wiring / controls.
