Question

My clutch pedal is rattling, the pedal has to much up and down movement.

Anyone have any idea which bolts I need to toy with (already tightened the one that hold the assembly to the car) to staop the extra loose movement?

Cheers,
Mark

Stick your head where your feet go, and look up. There is an adjustment bolt at the top of the pedal assemble, to adjust the slack on the pedal. 14mm spanner I think.

You will need some slack, otherwise the clutch will not properly disengage.

I realise it will need slack but at the moment the clutch peddle is bouncing around on bumpy surfaces!

Thanks I will have a look at it again tonight.

Mark what MY is the car?
It could also be a stretched cable as i had one of these on a renault and that rattled a bit or the return spring?

So it looks like a loose bolt then.

It was dark when I got home last night, hmm TSL on Friday...

Yes okay the shift key didn't depress fully! 40k miles!

Well found out it was the bolt holding the clutch assmebly to the car was loose. I'm sure I have tightened that before.

Awkward place to get to as well!

Still that's quite a few for an MY01, must be those endless trips to TSL then back to Dr Evil's.

What's next by the way?
