I have just heard a constant squealing noise from somewhere on my car. I think it is from the left hand side, but I don't know whether it is front or back. It is definitely speed related, not engine related.

Could this be a wheel bearing on its way out, or the back pads being worn out? (Last time I checked they had quite a lot of pad left - can't be the fronts as I've just put on 4 pots and new pads - it squealed before this )

Anyone got any ideas?

I wouldn't mind that, but she first noticed it when she was driving the car on her own

Jut been out in the car to see if I can find the problem. It seems to be the front left wheel area. I'm pretty sure it's not the brakes.

It could be a small stone caught between the disc protector and the disc, it happened on my car a while back.

I'll check, but I changed the discs yesterday

It made the noise both before and after the disc change, so brake problems seem unlikely to me.
