Hello to all who read this
Looking for some advice/help for a friend of mine. Now i know there are some very technically minded people out there and this is your chance to shine........
He has a mk 2 golf gti and is bodywork perfect but engine is getting a bit tired. He is looking to turn it in to a bit of a driveway project and needs to know what sort of upgrades or engine swaps he can do on a budget.
Hope somebody can point me in the right direction for him please

Either a VR6 engine conversion... or a 1.8 20v turbo engine....

turbo engine may be more tweakable...!! but the vr6 engine is amazing...

I had a magazine which had a guide of what to do to fit a VR6 engine into a mark 2 golf.... might be able to dig it out..
