Ive been told screwing this inward can help to eliminate overboost, who has tried this. Im still getting bad fuel cut at around the 5Krpm mark coupled with a load bang from the exhaust, I hope ! Its a pity that theres no sure fire solution for this, every post ive read seems to spawn different ideas on how to remedy. Ive tried most of them and the actuator arm is the next one to try.
Next,
Ill have to check which pipe it is but I can tell one has been replaced on the three point solonoid, I think its the one coming from the bottom of the solonoid, it doesnt have a restrictor in it ?? But one of the other pipes does, its not brass its plastic ?? I need a bit of a pipe Geography lesson can someone post a pic of where the (T-piece) is and point to where this restrictor should be.
MAF has been cleaned Not showing errors anyway (Pin Type)
Solonoid and pipes Cleaned
If Actuator doesnt sort it then new coils from Oz and new Plugs I suppose. Damm expensive way to solve problems eh ??
Ta peeps

Model year?
Oil level?
Have you cleaned the restrictors and solenoid out?
What does you boost gauge show? - if not put one in or you'll never sort it
Why change the plugs and coils if it is overboosting?

Sounds like you need to focus down on this problem and get a bit specific.

I don't know the routine for the restrictors with the 3 port solenoid though.

You mention a t-piece....don't think there is one with a 3 port solenoid set-up....

Maybe someone's t-ed in a bleed valve - boost gauge will let you see Gauge install can be temporary, just run a rubber hose from manifold, under edge of bonnet and through passenger window.

Its probably coil packs, if it was boost cut then it would always be the brick wall effect.

Don't mess with the actuator arm, screwing it in will certainly give you boost cut !!!

Close plug gaps to 0.6mm or just under and see if that helps, if so its coil packs, that is only a check not a solution though.

Its a 96 Sti RA
Blitz DV
Apexi Induction kit
Oil Halfway
All pipes and Solonoid clean
Maf clean
No codes
Gauge still not fitted yet, prob this weekend.
When it does happen which is not all the time, it always happens at 5K rpm. Sometimes its mild, like slight hesitation other times it full on kiss the badge !
I take it the only thing the Gauge is gonna tell me is if its a real problem or just the fuel Cut coming in, ie once I hit 1bar ecu cuts fuel ?
Any more questions, ask away.
Ta btw
