I have a slight oil leak that I only notice after the car has been parked for a couple of hours in the garage. There is a 1cm diameter drop of oil on the steel plate I have on the garage floor under the engine, its never any bigger. Oil consumption is negligable, though I have topped it up to the max since I had its 1000 service (now done 7000).

Is this worth handing the car over to dealer for a day or shall I wait for 10000 mile service ? I am checking oil on a regular basis to be sure, as I say its not using ANY. Where could it be coming from ? Any ideas ?

 

This doesn't sound a problem, but take it back while it is under a warranty. Oil leaks are nver for no reason.

No, I think I will mention it at next service unless it gets worse.

By the way Duncan, I used to stay at a place near Upton on Severn, not far away from them Malvern Hills !

That must be the ptfe spay oil youre putting in the door and chassis to stop the knocks and squeaks. :P
