Twin Plate Clutches
I have been offered a twin plate clutch at a very reasonable price.
I was wanting to hear from any owners who have one or know anything about the differences between the drivability and performance versus a standard clutch.
Its for a STi Type R if it makes any difference.
Anything you can offer would be appreciated.

Take it!!
I dont think you get the same sort of problems with the twin plate clutches as you do with the crappy ones they fit into the 218bhp cars, it will be an improvement as these clutches are designed to take more power, thats what you need really

I wouldnt bother.
The only impreza I know ofwith a twin plate is the 22B and that standard one was horrible.
I replaced mine with an ap twin plate and it felt no different from a normal single plate clutch. It did however require a different flywheel.
Personally I would have a word with amrk aigin (r19ket) as he can get hold of clutches which can handle massive torque and from all the ones I have seen and been told about, feel no different from standard. They are also cheap in comparison.

This one is a Cusco item, Japanese quality by all accounts. And comes with a flywheel included.
As a comparison, new it would cost $3000 New Zealand Dollars, he wants to sell it for $650 nz dollars. And its 30% worn.
I have confirmed that the STi clutch indeed is not twin plate.
Anyone have any pearls of wisdom for me...
Am happy to hear that they drive the same as a single plate...I was told they can be a bitch in traffic?

Whats the exchange rate for uk to nz?
I think like Adam says, you may as well get an AP organic especially if the clutch your getting is 30% worn, just depends how much it will cost (approx 350 quid) or how much 650 NZ dollars is?
