Fitted a scoobysport downpipe and lagged it (before fitting)
No need for all those rattling heat shields now.
Not a good idea to lag the turbo though as it can cause temps inside it to rise well above normal, not good for the life of your turbo.

hi dan,the downpipe was the best mod i have made to the scoob, not the easiest to fit though,DO NOT heat the nuts on the turbo to get them off, they are brass!!!
it does sound louder but its definatly worth doing,it pops and bangs on the over run like a rally car
pops flames out too
not cheap though,£200
definatly go for the scoobysport one though cos i looked at all the others and that one was the best for flow from the back of the turbo

From: Leeds - It was 562.4bhp@28psi on Optimax, How much closer to 600 with race fuel and a bigger turbo?

NOT TRUE...

Not all the nuts are brass... i have done a number of them and none have been brass.. some are stainless steel... Either way... mine needed some heating.....

Depends if its ever been off.. they dont allways use brass as it is quite soft... I have some high tensile bolts in mine at the moment, and they wind in and out easy!!!

I agree, I have fitted a few DP's and I have never seem brass nuts?? anyway with none brass I recommend loosening them ... NOT trying to remove them after you have had a run in the car. This is a lot easier than doing it cold.

I can swap my DP's in 50 mins now...

Cheers,

Joules
