I hope there's a problem with your calculations and my flywheel torque doesn't *really* bounce around like that

I use the logs as a basic performance gauge by doing the same 3rd gear run on the same piece of road and using the msecs between 2 set speeds.

Edited to add: ...and you should see the difference a remap makes

I spent a bit of time using an excel spreadsheet of a deltadash log (one of Dowsers) to create a torque measurement.

The excel file is here and i haven't finshed it yet.

Please feel free to download and adapt to your needs.

I had to guess a few things, like frontal area, weight, cd and gear ratios (used rpm for speed as the speed column was to the nearest 4kph).

It gives the torque at the wheels, and the equivalent torque at the engine due to the gear ratio. No power, but it should be simple to add te column.

All units are SI, so Nm torque, and Kw power would be torque * 2 * PI * RPM/60.

Let me know how you get on.

There will be problems in doing it this way. You can probably improve the accuracy by only logging the revs and throttle. I think part of the problem is the nature of the logging, it isn't "real time" as there time in ms isn't always the time that the actualy revs were measured.

Plotting a curve through the points would give you better figures.

I would be interested to see the difference of logging only the revs and throttle, it should be higher data capture rate. If someone has or can do such a log (no jokes please) I would grate to get a copy.
