Just enquiring on behalf off a mate who has a 98 typeR, a light appeared on his dash the other day for a while, i can only describe it as a square shape with x3 off this symbol above ~
it also appears on the back off the drivers sunblind. Any help appreciated

It is the Exhaust Gas Temp sensor and is there to show problems with the cat. The cat may be partially blocked, causing it too run hotter than normal. Normally fatal for the cat and not good for performance.
