Unhappy

My MY97 Catalunya has started burning oil whilst ticking over, but only sometimes. I've recently had it serviced by Scoobysport but as is sods law, it behaved perfectly whilst I was there. I can't seem to put my finger on any pattern, such as whether the car's hot or cold. As far as I can tell it doesn't appear to be burning oil other than when ticking over and there's no noticeable oil leak, noise or performance drop off.

As it's inconsistent I suspect it's some kind of electrical gremlin. Anyone able to offer any guidance please ?

Hi,

Try letting your car tick over for about 10mins... then get a helper to blip the throttle... if you get a puff of smoke its likly that your turbo bearing is shot... as oil leaks past the bearing at tick over and get burned..

It is worth checking the breather system isn't blocked anywhere.

Had this on a car (not a Subaru) a few years ago, garage said valve seals etc. Cleaned out all the pipes etc and it was fine.
