URGENT Intercooler Block Off ?

Just to double check when fitting a VTA BOV I attach the BOV to pipe coming from the manifold and block off pipe from intercooler.
Thats how I have got it setup at the mo anyway.....?

NO.

You need to connect the bov to the ic and 'block' off the re-circ pipe on the intake manifold.

Hope that helps, ps. dont forget the small dia vacuum pipe.

Thought I had it wrong......
Have I done any damage to my car running the otherway round ?
It still makes the noise but very quiet

Switched around now, sounds better not as loud as I thought it would be. Used the standard BOV to seal off manifold recirc pipe

You will be much better off changing the block in the pipe for something else, there is a chance that the original valve may leak ... as mine did..

That was a concern but the pressure should be pushing the plunger out and it was very tight as it is. I was using a piece of wood similar to a broom handle before, worked well but looked ***. Any ideas what to block with ?

Get a 2litre bottle of Sprite, drink it with lots of ice and Vodka

After youve had a little sleep, cut the threaded part of the sprite bottle off with a junior hacksaw, leave the lid on as it makes holding it a bit easier.

'Clean up' the lid with thread component that you should be left with and use that to 'plug' the original hose with, it is strong enough to accept a jubilee clip and very long lasting.

I don't like Sprite, when I chopped the little blighters head off it get really messy.

I used a Dr Peppr top instead, try it for yourself - hey, what's the worst that could happen?
