I recently helped to convert a WRX MY00 estate fom auto to manual. Engine is running fine, altho its idling at 1500 rpm?? Ive heard that there is a wire on the ecu, to tell it whether its auto/manual that may need cut or somehting? Anyone any ideas?? or even an ecu pin-out diag for the car.

Download the V5 Link Manual from Link Microsystems - see http://www.link-electro.co.nz/possumlink.html

On page 45 there is reference to the "MT/AT Identification" pinout for the ECU and the voltages are different depending on the transmission - changing this tells the ECU the transmission type.

I hope this helps.

Thanks

Gavin
