What does this sound like.

Car is driving normally. Water disappear'srom the cooling system when being driven. When the car is running but at a standstill the water remains in cooling system.

It seems that the cooling system is forcing the water out of the expansion tank's overflow pipe, because I spotted some anti-freeze down the nearside wing.

Heater is blowing out hot air on hot etc.
Oil looks perfectly normal.

Temperature gauge goes from its halfway point upto just under maximum and them returns back to halfway point again.

I have bought a thermostat, any ideas where its located?

Any help would be greatly received.

Unfortunately this normally means a head gasket is gone.
