Default Engine build 2014 JDM STI

Hello everyone
I am looking to buy another Impreza soon, I used to own a V2 STI 555 in around 2005.
I am looking at a Blobeye JDM STI, and want to get one that needs a bit of TLC and to make my own, but importantly I want to get big power from it and keep for a long time as an investment and 2nd car.
Does anyone have experience going through the process of modifying a standard one up to 400hp + and can I have some advice on how to go about it, any recommendations for tuners and any known challenges and expected costs?

for 400+ from jdm You need injectors,fuel pump lph340,sparks, 3" high flow sportscat exhaust or decat and turbo.
Two options in twinscroll ,2k pounds sc42+ from scoobyclinic or 3k pounds owens turbo from Chevron motorsport.
For owens advise is to fit turbo speed sensor-500 quid- where oem ecu has to be replaced with link g4x -approx 1800 quid fitted and mapped.
Issue with oem engine is boost ,it will survive till 1.45 bar but You will not get max from above turbos.
I will build my engine and i get best advises from Rich fbtuning and Andy from Wms. Chevron and Tdr were good to.
You could fit 900 quid vf36 turbo with billet wheel ,approx 390 hp on oem engine.
Than You could need new clutch, competition stage 2 or act hd ,
i went with act and 7kg flywheel.
Handling is important to,for me newages are to wobbly on oem suspension and brakes could be an issue for You to.
Overall any scoob this days is a money pit but nowhere near porsche money territory than i would say costs to own and modify one are ok for what You get from them.

It will only be an investment if it's very low mileage, and unmodified or easy to revert.
Not 2014 either.

Pls explain as to why you don't forsee the prices of these doing what classic Impreza STI's have done, or at least hold its money ?

No one really knows what gov. will do for non electric cars in future.They could rise taxes to get them off the roads etc.

Because the vast majority have been owned by people who haven't had the extra money to keep them in concours condition. And they rust alot. And they are very niche compared with marques like Ford or Nissan, with a "chavvy" reputation.
Over the last two decades, only minters and limited editions have been investments.
7 years ago, when I got my 19000 mile spec C Hatch, I had a choice whether to drive it, or garage it and sit on the "investment " It cost 23k. Today it's worth perhaps 18k on 65k miles, and needs attention. It may have been worth high 20's if kept low miles, but you still need a buyer.
I've just seen some fella wanting 64k for a P1 on 42k miles.....doesn't mean he'll get it
