Unhappy Rusted Wheel Arch and Turret

So as you can see in the pics my top turret has rusted so badly it has come behind the seats .

Is there any saving this and if so how? I have tried looking for a repair panel but no success

You can see my terrible attempts to weld but the metal is so thin it simply blows through.

Any help appreciated

Yes can be saved, well for a good while.

Mine was worse than that, and now all cut out and welded.

First I'd get all that back to bare metal. What welder are you using?

You can buy the whole strut turret. Think Subaru might be able get them on back order. But not cheap.

I'd just plate that up. But first you need to get that back to bare metal and neutralise the rust. If the metal is too thin cut it out.

Glad to hear I can save it

Not sure how I'd get a plate with the exact bend of the wheel arch.

Yeah I think plating it is the best option . Thanks

Body shop did mine. Makes yours look mint lol

He cut it all out and grinned the solid stuff back to bare metal. Plated it and, showed me pictures after looked really good. Then used some kind of undercoating stuff, looks lovely now.
