Default Slow electric window problem

So my front windows are moving slowly, drivers is the worst, do they just need lube, or new motors or regulators?

Just wondered if anyone else has had this issue or fixed it?

Not found anything for Subaru's online.

Probably the felt coating on the window guides worn off so now it's glass against rubber. Sometimes called sash channels.

Lubricating the guide channels with silicone spray will help as a short term fix.

The regulator mechanism may need a bit of grease as well. Generally speaking the motor usually is ok, but knackered guides and stiff regulator will eventually kill the motor and gearbox.

Yeah i read about Lubricating the guide channels with silicone spray, but couldn't find anything specific about Impreza's. I will give that a go for now. Wonder if i can get new channels.

Forgot to mention if it's a GC8, there's also four (two each side) felt coated blocks that press against the glass...when these are worn or dirty they put scratches in the glass, so worth checking/replacing while the door card is off.

Ah yes I bought a set of those a while back as the window started to scratch but then stopped, so never replaced them, will do now though thanks for reminder.
