Default Help with unindentified VIN: JF1BPEKU55G022536

Hi all,

I've bought a 2006 UK Legacy 3.0R AT recently. I've checked the VIN against a number of decoders and most don't regonise it, with one misreporting the car as 2.5L (defo a H6, I changed all 6 plugs!). UK V5 log book also reports the VIN as: JF1BPEKU55G022536 and 3000CC

Any know what the score is?

(as a side point it also seems to have an ECU ID that is not recognised or common, for the Romraider familiar)

ECU ID: 3C4A344006
Internal ID: D2ZZ001C, no defs in RR (D2ZZ001E is defined and appears similar but most tables clearly don't line up).

Cheers,
Baz

Most VIN decoders are for US VINs.
A Worldwide parts site like Partsouq, which uses the Subaru parts databases, can decode most if not all versions of Subaru VIN

Thanks Don, that is all very useful (as usual)! So it looks like it's a MY05, interesting about the ECU PN too, and might explain; https://www.romraider.com/forum/view...hp?f=8&t=11890

All signs point that D2ZZ001E is replacement / compatable to the D2ZZ001C, so I might brave dropping this on and see what happens.... (Jurrasic Park style "Hold on to your butts"), but.... Is there a database that ties PN to ECU ID do you know to be sure to be sure?

Ok so 22611AK360 is fitted - I assume, as can't remove the heafty anti theft bracket to see the full PN. If this is updates to 22611AK361 (as above), I'm gaining confidence that what's written in this romraider post is actually true: https://www.romraider.com/forum/view...hp?f=8&t=11890

I've email email Tactrix a few days ago to see if that helps also.

D2ZZ001C (undefined in RR) updates to: D2ZZ001E (which is defined in RR). I'm gunna try it.

The 990/991 ECU is for MY06 - just included incase
EK is Europe RHD (basically UK & NI)
ER is Europe Rep of Ireland (due to KPH rather than MPH requirement)

Aye, so it flashed successfully to D2ZZ001E, started straight away and revs perfectly. RR logger can now see all the Subaru specific stuff, FFB, knock count etc which it couldn't before - initial feeling is good. Not driven it yet as waiting for some diff oil to arrive tomorrow. Will post back the findings Ya or nah. Thanks for the help everyone!

on the VIN build data (Nov 05 without checking again) it states as an LPG model car, I do recall various ones being available to buy direct from the dealer

The first few test drives suggest the E version Rom is all good.

(Disclaimer: this rom change is a suggestion, you must check the car is OK if you do this, no responsibility lies with me)
