Default Walbro fuel filter sock

Fitted a spare brand new walbro 255 filter I had laying about that was meant to be fitted to my old skyline.

used the whole kit including the brand new filter sock that sits on bottom of fuel pump. Done this as my pump has done 135k miles so old sock filter isn’t looking to good these days

the new sock filter I’ve used is however considerably smaller, more then half the size. Is this going to be an issue? Should I go to all the effort change to the standard pump filter?

thanks guys

The original sock would probably of been better. The oem sock is angled so it sits further down in the tank to control fuel surge, plus it's twice the size

They don't look much better than that new. Give it a shake about in some fresh fuel and get it back on. If you look at the angle of the connection you'll see what I mean. The plastic frame on the base is to stop it sucking flat

Yeah I can see how much lower it would sit, didn’t really pay much attention when removing. I’ll get it swapped back this week
