Default Cam belt rubbing

As you can see in the photo my cam belt appears to be rubbing against the metal thing. Is this a problem with the metal bracket, or something else misaligned or loose?
I was planning a belt change anyway in the next few weeks, but will do it now. Anyone seen this before?

If you undo the allen headed bolts, the timing belt guide can be adjusted to give more clearance, there is a recommendation for how much space but I can't remember the exact measurement at the moment.

Worth making sure that the other ones are also correctly spaced as well.

its been tightened way to tight onto the belt. I had a similar story which i caught just in time. Mine was tightened on too much on the crank pulley. According to the manual it should be

Clearance:
1.0±0.5 mm (0.039±0.020 in)

So I'm not the only one! I'm now in the process of changing the belt. I was planning on doing it soon anyway, so had already bought a new belt kit and waterpump. Just wasn't originally planning on doing it for a couple of weeks.

I've got the belt and old tensioners off fine, but am now having difficulty in removing the old waterpump gasket. It seems the old cardboard one has turned into concrete and I've only managed to scrape a couple of cms off. This is taking longer than the whole rest of the job it seems.
