WRX Intake Cams over advancing and P0011 and P0021 Codes
So my 2008 WRX is being a pain in the ****, as the title states, the cam angle seems to be over advancing for both banks and it will throw a P0011 and P0021 error. Now I've connected up my OBD2 reader and have been monitoring the timing advance and I can see that once it gets up to temp the Cam angle seems to peek occasionally and the reader flags it as a warning. (I think it peaks around 37degrees or at least that's what the reader says). Interestingly though If I clear the code I can make 2 journeys before it comes back, The length of the journey is irrelevant as long as the car gets up to temp, It can be 5 miles or 100 miles but it will always come on as soon as the car is warm the 3rd time i drive it and it always both codes together never just 1.
I have read through virtually every thread about this error and it seems there is a lot of conflicting/Misinformation. I have checked the filters in the oil lines and they have all been removed in the past and the turbo is mint with no shaft play so I'm not hugely worried about oiling issues. The engine is freshly rebuilt and has only done about 600 miles, and the oil and filter that are currently in it have only done about 200miles so far.
I'm probably gonna pull both of the OCV valves out to test them but it seems unlikely both would be failing. Does anyone have any idea what would cause this issue
Thanks,
