Fitted the recon rear diff, sorted the problem. I now have a different sort of whine coming from, or it sounds like drivers side front? All wheel bearings been checked and seem ok, gearbox is sound and no probs. Could it be front drive shaft whining?.do they whine? Any ideas? 🤔

When does it whine? On power, coasting, turning left/right? Could it be power steering pump or alternator?

Off load..and certain angles. No real situation to tell, but when on power it’s perfect, and not always there? I was thinking front drive shafts? It sound like front end footwell area?

Probably the drop gears or center diff bearings which seem to often get noisy as miles pile on. Mostly heard when no load. I'd live with it, or you can pop the rear section of the gearbox off and get access to it all the likely culprits. Not a trivial job though!
