Default Rod Bolt Stretch Gauge

Does anyone know where in UK would be best to purchase a Rod Bolt Stretch Gauge ?

Can only find the ARP on which is around £200

Go to be more "Economical" options out there ?

Use a 50-75mm micrometer.

I thought of that,

Would just be a case of tighten a little then check

Repeat until desired stretch is achieved eh ?

Can't justify the £200 odd quid ARP one

Measure when the bolt is not under load, add the desired manufacturers load & check again, do not go over the manufacturers max torque to obtain the desired stretch, change the bolt, the same goes if your getting max stretch with very little torque, usually on used ones that have been overstretched & yielded.

Its the method we used in F1 for years, & still do.
