Alright, need some suggestions regarding a whirring(slight whistling) noise coming from turbo?
After hoofing up the strip at crail, maybee running too much boost, vf22 started that noise. Then put on new vf23, noise still there but louder and megga power loss!
Last thing done to car was the doz valve. Anyone got a clue?????

It wasnt too long ago when my WRX (VF24 turbo) developed a whistling noise on boost (from 4000 rpm on) had the engine thoroughly checked for leaks including the manifold, intercooler, essentially every damn thing and still nothing obvious was found nor did any come to mind. After putting up with this for three months, I told the dealer to strip the downpipe and exhaust manifold and re-check the turbo to see if there was any bent blades etc .. nothing. Then they noticed the heatshield on the factory up-pipe that surrounds the expansion/flexi joint had traces of carbon, broke open the shields only to confirm the leak was coming from inside and around the expansion joint.

This was my story and posted here earlier http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/thread.asp?threadid=102205&Page=1
