I've recently bought a 2009 Impreza WRX and it came with an issue with the passenger side wing mirror.

When you start the car the motor makes a buzzing noise like it's trying to move the mirror but it's not engaging.

It was caused by someone manually folding the mirror in.

Is it something fixable like the motor has come off of some kind of guide?

I'm happy taking it all apart, but figured I'd ask on here in case it's something fairly common.

 

think it happened to a mates , he bent it back the right way and it popped back to the way it was meant to be.
so I can only assume something has become separated inside yours
