Following on from my boost holding back I have been rooting around the engine bay and found this not in the exhaust, doesn' look to be a space for it either.

as my car is a WRX with a AVCS STI conversion wondering could this be one of the issues.

Can anyone confirm if this is the correct boost solenoid also.

Thanks

The bit you are holding in your hand is the EGT sensor that used to be in the pre-catted up pipe when it was a wrx, before an STi up pipe was fitted (no pre-cat).
It can be replaced with a 1/2 watt, 2.2k Ohm resistor, (subaru egt sensor delete)

Looks as if it has the standard OEM 2 port boost solenoid.

Cheers Don. Will go to Maplin tomorrow.

As for the boost solenoid, does it look like a STI one or WRX and are they both the same.

Car has a STI ECU, LOOM, AVCS LOOM, CLOCKS etc.
I bought it as a project and it has a few small issues, little bit holding back on boost is the main one.

Well, just been out at the car and the airbox was not fitted correctly, just refitted it and all issues have resolved themselves.
