Default Import Owners - do you change your Speedo?

As I’m shortly taking delivery of my new car, it’s my first import and was wondering if you change to a UK set of dials or just live with the kph?

Not when I test drove it, and to be honest I never really gave it a thought at the time. I shall ask if they’ll be doing that but I’d imagine the answer is no.

Mine was done before I got it think you get a certificate as well, maybe you could ask for it to be done before you get it

It should have had a speed converter fitted for its sva, if not it can be easily done, you dont have too change to uk clocks.

My import is still in Kmh, I'm just getting very good at converting to Mph in my head.
Still disconcerting when you glance down and see an indicated 100 and something. And I've had to explain it to my children a number of times so they stop shouting "daddy was going REALLY fast".

They dont need to be converted for the sva

I converted mine (on a classic ) then removed the speedo cluster and corrected the odometer reading to read what i should do in miles not k/m

Personally i would leave it in kms, i find its a deterant to speeding, as when you look at the speedo you always think your going to fast .

Just to be on the safe side, a heads-up display works great.
Have a look on Ebay they are not expensive.

I have soem kind of fascia adaptor on mine, so the diap for the speedo is in MPH, but the odometer still reads kms, best of both worlds in my opinion.
