if this has been asked before then i apologise, i have tried using the search.

i intend to do a coolant flush in blob sti.

how i was going to do it was.

1. drain the coolant from the ****, with the header cap off. close ****
2. remove the rear pipe from header tank and slowly fill with deionsed water only. refit pipe.
3. start car to bleed it, once its stopped burping in header tank and fans have come on switch off engine and let it cool down.
3. drain from **** again.
4.fill from pipe again but with coolant mix.
5.start car to bleed it, once its stopped burping in header tank and fans have come on switch off.


how does that sound?

 

Newage cars are easy to fill as you have 2 caps, one on the rad and one on the turbo / header tank. I personally just use tap water mixed with Comma G30 OAT.

Fill rad until it won't take anymore and put the cap back on, then fill turbo tank, leave cap off turbo tank and put heaters on hot but lowest fan setting, fire it up and let it run for a bit to let any air out. Then cap on and take it for a drive, let it cool down and check the level, top up as required.

 

I read somewhere on net that radcap should not be removed??

search for alcazars method, seems to be the best way and works for me. back fill like you said from the rear pipe on the header tank which is the turbo water feed and fill from the bottom up. if you do it slowly there should be no air trapped in the system. this cured the annoying water gurgling sound i was getting from behind the dash which is common when you have air trapped in the system.
