Default Stupid question ?

Hi all. My 2007 sti pulls well to 5k rpm then it pulls even harder (like having vtec). Is this due to mapping or is it the avcs. I was under the impression that avcs worked through the whole rev band.
Thanks in advance

Turbo dynamics hybrid mdx pcm 450 it pulls well from about 2.5k but at 5k it pulls like f**k. Can hear it spool from 2.5k rpm.

probably when it hits peak/full boost. might be worth having your mapper check its not overboosting. do you have a boost gauge? what boost are you seeing at 5k?

No dont have a boost gauge. Have just installed torque pro but having trouble getting the boost to read. Will have a play with it and see what happens.
dont rate the company that mapped it at all but it was done before i had the car. It was done after a forged rebuild 5k miles ago

well it can damage the turbo for a start, it could also lead to lean running and detonation which is bad. fit a boost gauge and see where your at regarding peak boost. was there no info regarding who mapped it and what boost and power figures were gained?

never heard of him bud, just beware he,s not a generic mapper who flashes ecu,s with tweaked maps. you want a subaru specific mapper who knows the cars. dont know who maps down your neck of the woods im sure enginemapper (graham) used to wotk out of group b motorsport in deeside iirc. ask about on here someone will know a decent mapper down your way.

Got torque pro to work it is showing
-.8 at its lowest and 1.5 bar at max
It rises steadily through the rev range.
Trying to get it booked in for a remap on tuesday. Because i dont like where it was mapped in the first place the prive of a remap is a small price to pay for piece of mind

I have used Steve Simpson for my GEMS ECU on my bugeye. Some people knock him but I have had no complaints.
