Default Seeking advice about the ej20gnw6nd engine

Hi all
I'm looking at buying a 1998 impreza turbo as abit of a toy, I'm just wandering what the spec of these engines are, if I was to forge it and get a bigger turbo with all other supporting mods could I see 350bhp out of it ? I'm quite clued up with the new age engines but I've never had a classic, I'm guessing there just a bottom of the range open deck block ? any help would be greatly appreciated

Even forged open deck blocks have been well over 500bhp so anything around 350 will be a walk in the park.
have you considered just fitting a brand new ej207 short block? They're around 2 grand I think and will work out cheaper. They have been pushed over 500 in standard form and will easily support 400-450bhp should you get the itch.

Thanks for the reply mate , I'm open fr any ideas really I'm just waiting for my mate to get back to me from teg sport with prices for forging or or like u say just a newer stronger engine , what would be the best gear box to run with the ej207 setup because this classic one won't last to long on anything over 350 haha
