I chased a misfire for over a year, replacing sensors and coilpacks; the nps, neutral position switch, is a cheap starting point. Although I was assured by a few well known subaru mechanics that it was unlikely to be injectors, cleaning them cured it. Injector function is crucial in a turbo car, and yet how many have cleaned their's at higher mileages? Good luck searching, misfires are hard to track down ; Google the misfire thread on Nasioc and work through

OK update on the misfire. Some idiot had over tightened the rocker arms and the valves were staying open on no2 cylinder. Adjusted them and reset and now it runs perfect. A lot of work finding out what the problem was for such a stupid mistake. Their was no clearance what so ever on no2 valves.
