'94 WRX intake silencer removal
#1
I'm over 300 hp, so it's past time for me to have done this mod...I know its fairly simple, but can anyone post instructions for removing the intake silencer from my '94 jdm WRX wagon, so I can free up more airflow, and hear the turbo spool louder?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Basically you remove the right hand inner wheel arch liner which is held in place with some plastic clips. Looking up at the resonator you then remove 2 10mm(?) nuts which locate the resonator and just pull it out! Quite simple to do takes about 15 mins.

Walshmi, it dyno'd at 235.7 hp, 226.6 ft-lbs, so based on 25% driveline loss, that's 314 bhp, 302 ft-lbs.
Power-related mods include:
Power FC stand alone
AVC-R at 16 psi
3" custom turbo back w/one hi-flow cat (Magnaflow backbox)
ported TD05-16G (it came with a TD04 stock)
Supra TT fuel pump
various gauges

No kidding, wow. Does anybody have a link to that post? Even with all my mods, my car still seems to still breathe fine, but I wouldn't mind hearing the turbo and BOV more. I'd like to read what John Banks found. According to the folks with the New Age WRX's, silencer removal is a must-do DIY mod.
