Question Fitting a kill switch to newage

Have had it on my mind to fit an additional kill switch to the car (blob sti) as it would help prevent theft should the keys be stolen.

I'm not hugely electrically minded but figured a simple toggle switch somewhere would do the job.

My question is whats the simplest route to take for this? Something off the ignition or fuel pump?

Would be interested to hear peoples thoughts and if possible a wiring diagram/ecu pin out may help.

I'm an old fart so would like to locate the switch within easy reach of the drivers seat. I have a few places in mind that would be easy to route wires to so just need to know what people would recommend.

Thanks, Rich

Either would do.
Just trace the wiring for the fuel pump, for example, cut and splice and fit your switch.
Easy enough to do.

I'm Scunny based too, but am in France at the mo.

Easy way is the starter motor on the ignition barrel, best ways but slightly more difficult to find are fuel pump and crank sensors.

I'm also interested in doing this.
I've searched across the net and fuel pump tend to be the one I see most often.

Thanks for the replies. Anyone got pics/how to on any of the suggested?

Regarding the clutch switch, I can start the car with/without my foot on the clutch so how would this work?

Going for the fuel pump or ignition is better than for the starter motor as the car could always be tow started. They would not care about unburnt fuel getting into the Cat.

Why not do both

Yes true, but I suggested it because he said he has a low skill level and was looking for an easy way, which that is... and your average rag and bone thief (which is what you're dealing with where Subaru's are concerned) won't be looking for ways to solve the issue of the car not starting.

Professional car thieves will get the car no matter what you do.
