Default Exshaust

This is my frst post on here just joined, im Looking at replacing my exshaust on my 02 bugeye wagon it's totally shot. I've got the chance of one for good money but what I need to know is if I replace the center section and Back box will i be removing a cat, which will in turn mean I need to re-mapp or is it just a resonator. Car has ppp pack installed with proof Thanks guys.

Just make sure replacement exhaust is standard 2.5" bore. Plenty of cheap 2nd hand ones on eBay.

why does it matter that it stays standard size?

Standard oe size is 2.5", you can get 3" generally for higher power applications so the pipework needs to match.

As has been mentioned it won't match up. 3" bore and 2.5" bore. You can fit 3" bore but you need a new cat and a remap. But not all 3" bore exhausts won't fit some narrow to 2.5" bore for the cat.
