Guys, looking to get the old bugeye wrx remapped shortly. Its going to have a full decat, 255 fuel pump, panel filter. Some threads say consider installing a 3 port boost solinoid. Do I REALLY need this for the mods that are going on? Are there any real benifits at this power level?

 

You don't need one. But then you don't need a 255 fuel pump or a panel filter. 3-port holds boost better at higher rpm. Personally, I'd fit one for the sake of <£100. However, best advice is to contact whoever is going to map your car and ask what they recommend.

I bought a scoobyworx one.
Didn't have any problems in my ownership.

 

I had my car mapped recently and added a new fuel pump and 3 port. I do notice a difference so they are with it in my opinion.
