Quieter exhaust @ 400+
Hi again all,
looking for some advice this time on exhausts, I have a type r running 425/430 with a full decat. Car drives great but unfortunately the exhaust is like a bloody cannon, and with the aim of the car being to look somewhat standard I'd like to change it.
I believe the exhaust on there at the moment is an old scoobyparts tornado system, I have a prodrive backbox off of another classic sitting around so was thinking of giving that a try to quiet things down a bit. Am I likely to run into any issues doing this? I've had a search but can't seem to find anyone running one over 400.
any thoughts?
Cheers 👍

I went through a good few different options before settling on a prodrive bbox, people will say try a resonated centre section but it makes **** all difference if you've got a loud back box and it's a decat system, I find the Prodrive still sounds good and doesn't drone at cruising speed, takes a bit to get used to cos you'll think it sounds **** and too quiet compared to the other box, depends what you use the car for aswell mines a daily driver so the loud exhaust wears thin pretty quickly

Cheers guys,
i've looked at the cobra systems before, although ideally I was hoping not to spend that much and just replace the rear box. Likewise looked at the H and S exhausts, I was hoping to keep my current 2.5" pipework.

looking on their site you can't just buy the rear section annoyingly. I don't really want to buy a full system again, plus upgrading to 3" would mean another visit to mapper. Main thing i was wondering was whether the prodrive backbox would be OK at this power level that's all.
