Default Swapping out a prosport temp sensor with a defi one

Hi All,

i am currently swapping out my old prosports with defi gauges and got to the last dreaded oil temp on the third gallery. Firstly has anyone tried to remove the old sensor as I can't get anything down there to unscrew it?

secondly in my excitement I removed the hose which goes from the TB underneath and realised it's full of coolant. I am thinking this will now introduce an air lock, thoughts?

I used a flexible head ratchet spanner for the oil sensor, just slide it down the cable.
I don't know about the coolant but don't take any chances.

I didn't have to move any hoses when I did mine, just took off the intercooler for better access.

The sender shouldn't be too tight anyway. Try not to disturb the adaptor that sits in the actual threads in the block.

thanks Alcazar I don't have the right tool at the moment so have put it back together and burped the cooling system. I feel better knowing that when I do it I shouldn't have too many issues with unscrewing it. Unlike removing the horrible subaru hex one

........and burped the cooling system.
Eeeeek!

THERE IS NO KNOWN WAY TO BLEED THE IMPREZA COOLING SYSTEM.

Burping, and anything else is a myth. if you have emptied it, either by accident or on purpose, drain and refill using my method.

Failure so to do can result in the airlock causing overheating, with the resulatant headgasket problems a close follow.
