Speedo convertor/delimiter fitting question
I've bought a 1995 WRX Wagon that had a mph face plate conversion on the speedo, so it reads up to 110mph, rather than coverting it to read in mph and leaving the 180kmh faceplate
I want to fit a convertor to the rear of the clocks to do the above (and lift the 112mph limiter). I have managed to get hold of a kmh to mph convertor (easier said than done now!) and tried to fit it today.
I got the surround off the clocks and undid all the screws holding the clocks in. However I can't pull the clocks out far enough to disconnect the speedo cable as there is barely any slack in the cable - it won't pull forward enough to get my hand in so I couldn't remove them. I removed the lower dash panel and tried going in underneath instead - I can get my hand on the back of the clocks where the cable connects but there isn't enough room to manouvre my hand to disconnect the cable.
How does the speedo cable connect to the clocks, does it unscrew or is there a clip/tab to push in and it then pulls out? Does anyone know an easier way to get to it?
I did a few searches but I can't bring up the answer - just 'remove the clocks and fit the covertor to the back of the speedo'

This one does say to plug it directly in to the back of the clocks. I will need to get them out anyway so that I can change the faceplate again once I've got the converter on.
Anyone help?

I'm afraid you are going to have to percevere with the reaching up through lower dash board. I had this on my old wrx.
Speedo out, connect convertor to back of speedo, speedo back in, reach up and push cable into convertor, (and it does just push in).
Had arm scratched to bits each time but its got to be done.
Hopefully someone will be able to help you with an easier way

It clips on the back of the clocks mine was a real pain too.
Had to split the cable in the middle and pull it through.
The speedo cable on v3 is 2 pieces, gearbox to centre joint then centre joint to clocks. The joint clips together with a small retaining clip and is just behind / under the turbo.
Once you split the cable into two parts you will have enough slack to play with but its still a pain in the ***.
