Hi everyone - I have a 1996 wrx and the bottom
end has gone do you know the cheapest easiest way to fix ? Another engine ? Bottom end re-build? If anybody knows of any engines then let me know. Thanks in advance, Lloyd.

 

Second hand engine cheapest, but you get what you pay for.

 

I'm really struggling to find an EJ20G- will others fit without adjustment ?

 

A good option might be to buy a ej207 scdb brand new for just over £2k
Or a second hand one for just under £1k
There are a lot of options but you will need to use your heads.
Your bottom end is a cdb so you could get that rebuilt with standard or forged internals,depends on how deep your pockets are and if the block is actually reusable?

 

Thanks for the input... the car is a track car and iv just bought a hawk eye that's being mapped etc at Corten miller . So I just want to get this running and sorted to sell - obviously don't want to sell anyone a ringer ! So most ej20 turbo engines will go is that right ?

 

Yes all ej20 shortblocks will work with your heads
