Newage or classic ? either way you need to wire into the fuelpump controller so it acts in the same way as the car fuel pump, i.e. primes and then shuts off until the engine starts. I've fitted one to my newage so can give you relevant info but not sure on the classic.

You need to install new power wires for the second pump as you will be doubling the load and the factory wiring wont be happy. Use a relay thats triggered from your in tank pump to switch the second pump on and off. the switch is opperated on the negative side not the positive. the wiring plug can be found under the rear bench.

Shouldnt need a remap if the pressure regs the same, but worth checking it is bob on as any variation means rich or lean.
Primary pump isnt supplying fuel line pressure with a swirl pot any more, its just keeping the swirl pot full and any excess returns to tank..... hence no pressure.
The new secondary pump from the swirl pot is the one that supplies line pressure to the engine.
