Default D2S Bulb help

Guys my drivers side headlight bulb has stopped working on Main beam.

High beam and sidelights okay.

Is there anything I can check and is it most likely the bulb has blown or is there any other part more likely to have failed (Ballast?). - I Don't want to remove headlight if possible as had difficulty and gave up before, Would need test in passenger light and this needs light removed.

Am I correct that this is a ds2 bulb? I don't want to have to replace both so can anyone tell me what the normal Subaru lamp is 4000k,6000k or 8000k.

I have removed the bulb it is has Philips D2S 35W 85122 on casing but nothing on light output.

On Phillips Web page can find D2S Philips Vision 35W 4300K Xenon HID Bulb and several other options, so not sure what matches OEM or if these are OEM.

Thanks in advance

Swap them over left to right to eliminate the problem, If the bulb works in the other headlight the chances are it's the ballast

As above.
OEM stuff is generally 4300K, this being the closest to daylight/brightest.

ALWAYS bear in mind that, the higher you go up the temperature scale, the less USABLE light you get. Above 6000K is actually worse than a decent halogen

So borrowed a bulb from my friends car, put it in and switched on the lights and both lights now on.

Was about to order a new bulb and thought I would try the old one before ordering, and it came on?

Any Ideas is it possible it is still the bulb at fault?

Cheers.

Could be a poor connector. be careful, they run at a high voltage.
